There are three classic ways small businesses get burned on a website

The $4,000 quote

An agency quotes you a number with a comma in it, plus hosting, plus maintenance, plus a "discovery phase." You close the email slowly and never reply.

The DIY site builder

"I'll knock it out some Sunday." That was three years ago. The site is 60% done, the header says "Your Text Here," and you'd rather re-tile a bathroom than open it again.

The nephew

He built it in 2019. It was fine! Then he moved, got a real job, and now the site's down and your texts get a thumbs-up react, eventually. We love him. He's not answering.

None of this is your fault — you're busy running an actual business. Here's the version where the website just works:

One flat plan. Everything a small business website needs.

No packages, no tiers, no "call for pricing." Here's the whole list:

Who this is not for (we'd rather tell you now)

Online stores, complex custom builds, and sites that need 20+ pages deserve a bigger toolbox than this plan. For those, talk to our big sibling, North Pier Digital — same developer, bigger projects. For everyone else: plumbers, electricians, landscapers, cleaners, salons, gyms, restaurants, contractors, therapists — this plan was built for you, on purpose.

The price. The whole price.

One plan — everything included

$349 one-time setup

then

$117 /month

That's less than $4 a day. Your gas station coffee costs more.

  • Hosting, SSL, security, backups, monitoring, and email support — all included.
  • Unlimited small edits — text and photo swaps, hours, prices — done within 2 business days.
  • 12-month minimum term, then month-to-month. Cancel anytime after with 30 days' notice.
  • No hostage situations: buy your site outright anytime for $1,200 minus $100 per month you've paid. After 12 months, the buyout is $0 — it's simply yours.

(You'll know everything before paying a dollar — the first step is a 15-minute call.)

If you ever need more

How it works — you do almost nothing

A 15-minute call

You tell us about your business — what you do, who calls you, what you want the phone to do more of. That’s the hard part, and it isn’t hard.

Send us your stuff

Photos of your work, your logo if you have one (fine if you don’t), your hours and services. We write all the words.

Live in 10 business days

You review it, we polish it, it goes live. Your total homework for the whole project: about an hour. Smooth sailing from there.

What your site could look like

Three examples across different trades. Yours gets designed for your business — not squeezed into someone else's template.

Hi, I'm Simon.

I'm a professional developer with 10+ years of experience, based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin — right at the foot of Lake Winnebago. Every Lakeside Sites website is built and maintained by me — a senior developer, not a template mill, not an offshore queue, not an "account manager" who has to go ask someone.

When you email about your site, I'm the one who answers. When something needs fixing, I'm the one who fixes it. You get my number, not a ticket queue.

Questions a smart business owner asks

What counts as a "small edit"?

Anything that takes about 30 minutes or less: swapping text or photos, updating hours or prices, adding a testimonial, tweaking a section, seasonal updates. Email it over and it's done within 2 business days. What it doesn't cover: whole new pages (those are $99 each), full redesigns, or adding e-commerce. If you're ever unsure, just ask — the worst case is "that one's a quote," never a surprise bill.

Who owns my website if I stop paying?

You're never locked in. You can buy your site outright at any time for $1,200 minus $100 for every monthly payment you've made — so after your first 12 months, the buyout price is $0 and the site is simply yours. Your domain name is registered in your name from day one, so that's always yours regardless.

What happens if I cancel?

There's a 12-month minimum term. After that, you're month-to-month and can cancel anytime with 30 days' notice — one plain email, no retention-department phone maze. When you cancel after 12 months, the site is already yours (see the buyout math above); we'll hand over all the files and even help you move it to new hosting.

Do you write the words for me?

Yes — that's included in the setup fee. You get on a short call and talk about your business; we turn it into professional website copy. Most of our customers are great at their trade and hate writing about themselves. That's normal, and it's our job.

Can you fix or replace my existing website?

Yes. Most people come to us with an existing site that's outdated, broken, or held hostage by whoever built it. We build you a fresh site, redirect your old links so you don't lose your Google standing, and handle the switch-over. You don't need to talk to your old provider — we can usually work around them entirely.

Do I need to buy a domain name?

If you already have one, we connect it — it stays registered in your name. If you don't, we'll help you buy one during setup (usually around $12/year, paid directly to the registrar, in your own account). Either way the domain is yours, permanently, no matter what happens with us.

What about business email, like info@mycompany.com?

We'll help you set up professional email on your domain (typically Google Workspace, about $7/user/month paid to Google). The email service itself isn't part of the $117/month, but the setup help is — we'll get it working on your phone before we call it done.

How long does it take, and what do you need from me?

Your site is live within 10 business days of us having your content. From you, we need about an hour total: a 15-minute call, some photos of your work, and your business details (hours, services, service area). We send you a simple checklist and we do the follow-up nudging.

Is there a contract?

Yes, a short one you can actually read: 12-month minimum term, then month-to-month with 30 days' notice to cancel. It also spells out exactly what "unlimited small edits" covers and the buyout math. No auto-renewing multi-year terms, no fine-print gotchas — the whole thing is on our terms page.

What if my website goes down?

That's the whole point of the monthly plan: we monitor your site, so if it goes down or slows down we usually know before you do, and fixing it is our problem, not yours. No emergency invoices, no "have you tried clearing your cache." You go back to running your business.

The guarantee

Love the design before it launches — or walk away.

If you're not happy with your website's design before launch, we revise it until you are. If we truly can't get there, you walk away and pay nothing beyond the setup fee. No monthly billing ever starts on a site you don't love.

Ready to stop thinking about your website?

$349 down, then $117 a month — still less than $4 a day, and unlike the coffee, it answers the phone while you're on a job.

Fill this out, then go enjoy your evening at the lake — Lakeside's got it from here.

(No sales pitch. We'll call within 1 business day, and you already know the whole price — you just read it. Wisconsin-based, 10+ years, real human.)
